We aim at helping community members achieve financial security through self help economic projects such as through hand made products.Sikyoomu is a community based organization comprising of market vendors living with HIV/AIDS and AIDS. SIKYOMU has 224 (113M, 111F) members who meet regularly to support each other and engage prevention by positives’ activities.
SIKYOOMU Market Vendors Support AIDS Group was started by PLWAs of St. Balikuddembe market in 2005 after attending HIV/AIDS awareness sessions through the Market vendors AIDS Project (MAVAP). Since then, the group has spread to various market places like Nakawa market, Park-yard, Nateete market, to mention but a few.
